Julien Capron

I make messy ideas real enough for someone else to react to.

I am a French builder in New Jersey. Most of my work sits in the middle: between business and code, between the plan and the actual thing, between "this should exist" and "here is the first version."

I have spent 20+ years building products, teams, and engineering systems at CB Insights, Storyblocks, and now on my own. The useful part was never just the code. It was translating the mess into something people could see, use, and improve.

That work is now Ancre. I help experienced non-technical founders, operators, consultants, and domain experts turn ideas they keep circling into a first version they can show someone.

Things I keep coming back to

First versions

Hack days, AI tools, landing pages, prototypes, whatever makes the idea visible.

Translation

Business to code. Founder to builder. Manager to team. Vague problem to shared language.

Systems

I lost 100+ pounds by treating my health like a product problem. Inputs, feedback loops, repeatable routines, boring consistency, visible progress.

A little more human

I am French, live in New Jersey, and have an annoying tendency to turn interests into systems.

D&D tables, trumpet practice, wrestling storylines, fitness data. Different surface area, same habit: find the pattern, make it usable, keep going.
